Smoke on the Water

I  was listening to this in 'The Moonstone' [Pub]when I was 16...['Machine Head']...
seems dated now but I like the riffs...anyways...left the gaff went round the corner into Harrington Street
then into
Matthew Street...saw this weird Statue poking out the Wall..it was CG Jung...the Swiss Dude..
mmm?  Methought.. wasn't 'Machine Head' produced in Switzerland?...something about a fire
in a Hotel or Casino?...Smoke on the Water?...
I didn't know it then but SYNCHRONICITY...was making a call.. and yes 16 is illegal to be boozing but wtf in those days everyone did.. the 'Moonstone' was full of potheads etc

Deep Purple figures prominently some titles include 'Lazy' ' The Woman from Tokyo' etc- as does Led Zeppelin etc or 'World of Pain' by CREAM etc.. heavy Metal /Guitar stuff

Album cover Artworks on 'DEEP PURPLE' Productions include 'The Book of Taliesin' [a very early Poetry Book] 'BURN'  'IN HOCK'  [US Presidents on Mt RUSHMORE-'Visual Pun' ]
'SHADES' 'THE PAINTER' [with Hieronymus Bosch illustration]  'STORMBRINGER' and so on..

JAMES MASON and CHARLIE CHAPLIN both died in Switzerland...MASON once bought
a House formerly owned by BUSTER KEATON.. and is responsible for saving 'THE BOAT' [Movie]made
by KEATON and presumed lost until MASON  found a Reel in His new Abode during His
House move and immediately sent it to an Archivist who managed to preserve it.
[I've been to Switzerland one time.. nice place]

Both these Guys 'Trod 'the Boards' in Liverpool
in 'Repertory Theatre'.. CHAPLIN shared 'Actors Digs' here with STAN LAUREL.. before both
headed West to Hollywood..[some of MASON'S Movies I've listed in My 'In Spite of Ourselves' Post
a minor role played by Mason was 'BULLY HAYES' in the BURTON STEPHEN LANCASTER Movie
'HIS MAJESTY O'KEEFE' 1954..in which He tried to use a Scouse Accent.. tsk tsk ...even the best Actors sometimes Screw Up]

'Deep Purple' is Jamaican Cannabis- as well as an Alcohol 'Cocktail'..[Tequila based]

So, We went into this CG Jung place.. and I never returned to the 'Moonstone'.. now long gone..
My Headbanger Rickenbacker -owning  Mate became a Pro Guitarist, still has a bunch of My 'LP's and I last heard of Him
Thirty odd years ago Doing the rounds of Pubs and Clubs playing Country Music of all things?
I worked one time on Security at a 'Guns and Roses' gig.. and am not impressed by Guitar Players with big Ego's or Drunks and Scumbags from whatever background, Actors etc

but You know.. We all gotta eat.. and I'm still into Jung..
