The Fight Is On, by, Ralph Killey

When we heard the news, it didn’t quite soak in.
How can this be so, he’s always in the Gym
Muscles all in tone, hardly any fat.
Harry are you sure, how can you have ‘THAT’?
Harry said: ‘It’s true and there’s no operation, I’m reeling at the moment my brain is in stagnation
The treatment that’s at hand, I’ll follow to the letter I am not about to die, I’ll ‘bloody-well’ get better.
So this is what he’s doing,, an icon to us folks
He walks into our Café, and still laughs at the jokes.
He follows all the rules so positive and sure
Adores his wife and lives his life the way he did before.
Our generation’s curse, of course you know it’s, CANCER,
The medics are all baffled and for now there is no answer
But I have learned so much from my courageous friend.
If you get that Curse, don’t think the worse, it doesn’t mean the End.
